IEC 61978-1:2014 applies to fibre optic passive chromatic dispersion compensators, all exhibiting the following features:
– they are optically passive;
– they have an optical input and an optical output for transmitting optical power;
– the ports are optical fibres or optical fibre connectors;
– they are wavelength sensitive;
– they may be polarization sensitive. This standard establishes uniform requirements for the passive chromatic dispersion compensator. This third edition cancels and replaces the second edition, published in 2009, and constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
– introduction of new terms and definitions;
– revision of classifications;

API Spec 17J

Specification for Unbonded Flexible Pipe, Fourth Edition

API 17J defines the technical requirements for safe, dimensionally and functionally interchangeable flexible pipes that are designed and manufactured to uniform standards and criteria. Minimum requirements are specified for the design, material selection, manufacture, testing, marking, and packaging of flexible pipes, with reference to existing codes and standards where applicable. See API 17B for guidelines on the use of flexible pipes.

API 17J applies to unbonded flexible pipe assemblies, consisting of segments of flexible pipe body with end fittings attached to both ends. API 17J does not cover flexible pipes of bonded structure. API 17J does not apply to flexible pipe ancillary components. Guidelines on flexible pipe ancillary components are given in API 17L1, API 17L2, and other API documents.

API 17J does not apply to flexible pipes that include nonmetallic tensile and pressure armor wires.
The applications addressed by API 17J are sweet and sour service production, including export and injection applications. Production products include oil, gas, water, and injection chemicals. API 17J applies to both static and dynamic flexible pipes used as flowlines, risers, and jumpers. API 17J does not apply to flexible pipes for use in choke and kill line applications. Annex H of API 17B provides recommendations for the application of fiber reinforced polymer materials for pressure armor and tensile armor in unbonded flexible pipe.

1.1 This specification covers zinc-coated steel welded wire reinforcement, plain and deformed, or a combination of deformed and plain wires, for reinforcement of concrete, in sizes not less than 0.080 in. [2.03 mm] and over nominal diameter for plain wire and 0.113 in. [2.87 mm] and over for deformed wire.

1.2 This specification is intended to be applicable to cold-worked wire, drawn or rolled, plain or deformed, coated in a continuous process.

1.3 An alternative to a continuous coating process of wire before fabrication is a hot-dip process, where the welded wire reinforcement is immersed in a bath of molten zinc.

Note 1Data on the corrosion resistance of galvanized steels in concrete are limited. The user is cautioned that the laboratory testing performed on this material has been insufficient and may not accurately reflect the performance of the material when embedded in concrete as reinforcement.

1.4 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard.
