The purpose of this manual is to prescribe/establish definitions and specifications to be used in connection with the AMCA
Certified Ratings Program for the sound performance of fans.

Scope

Products that can be licensed by AMCA International to bear the AMCA Certified Ratings Program seal for sound ratings
are centrifugal fans, axial fans, power roof ventilators, air curtains, agricultural fans and other air moving devices within
the product scope of AMCA.

The program applies only to complete air-moving devices that are already licensed to bear the AMCA Certified Ratings
Program seal for air performance.

The program applies to fans within the scope of AMCA for which performance catalogs are published and made available
to the public. It does not apply to special units for which performance ratings are not published. When performance ratings
for both licensed and non-licensed products are contained in the same catalog, there must be a clear distinction made
between licensed and non-licensed products, as required in AMCA Publication 11.

When one or more licensed products are used as component parts of a larger unit, the AMCA Certified Ratings Program
seal for sound ratings may not be applied to the complete unit unless the unit itself has been licensed in accordance with
this program.

AMCA 11-16

Certified Ratings Program Operating Manual

The purpose of the AMCA International Certified Ratings Program (CRP) is as follows:

  • To provide the buyer, user and specifier assurance that the manufacturer’s published
    performance ratings of air system components are reliable, accurate and in compliance
    with applicable national and international standards. Further, its purpose is to provide
    these parties with information on how the product was tested, what appurtenances were
    included and other pertinent information so that they may be able to select an air system
    component that will provide the performance required.
  • To provide a procedure for verification of the manufacturer’s performance ratings on a
    regular schedule by check testing the certified product line in the AMCA International
    Laboratory or an AMCA International independent accredited laboratory.

This document shall govern the AMCA International Certified Ratings Program and is to be used in
conjunction with companion documents as applicable, such as AMCA Publications 111, 211, 212, 311,
511, 611, 1011 and all known applicable AMCA International Certified Ratings Program documents
currently in use.

AMCA 205-10

Energy Efficiency Classification for Fans

This standard defines the energy efficiency classification for
fans. The scope includes fans having an impeller diameter
of 125 mm (5 in.) or greater, operating with a shaft power
750 W (1 hp) and above, and having a total efficiency calculated
according to one of the following fan test standards:
ANSI/AMCA 210, ANSI/AMCA 230, AMCA 260, or ISO 5801.
All other fans are excluded. The standard only applies to the
fan, not the fan drive or the fan system.

This standard can be used by legislative or regulatory bodies
to define the energy efficiency requirements of fans used
in specific applications.
