BS EN ISO 5210:2017 specifies the requirements for the attachment of multi-turn actuators to valves.

Throughout this document, “actuator” may be understood as “actuator and/or gearbox” providing a multi-turn and/or linear output.

It specifies:

  • flange dimensions necessary for the attachment of actuators to industrial valves [see Figure 1 a)] or to intermediate supports [see Figure 1 b)];
  • those driving component dimensions of actuators which are necessary to attach them to the driven components;
  • reference values for torque and thrust for flanges having the dimensions specified in this document.

NOTE 1 In this document, the term “valve” may also be understood to include “valve with an intermediate support” [see Figure 1 b)].

NOTE 2 When a combination of a multi-turn actuator and separate multi-turn/linear gearbox is coupled to form an actuator, the multi-turn attachment to the gearbox is in accordance with this document [see Figures 1 c) and 1 d)]. A combination of a multi-turn actuator with integral multi-turn/linear gearbox supplied as an actuator is in accordance with Figures 1 a) and 1 b).

BS EN 16942:2016 lays down harmonized identifiers for marketed liquid and gaseous fuels. The
requirements in this standard are to complement the informational needs of users regarding the
compatibility between the fuels and the vehicles that are placed on the market. The identifier is
intended to be visualized at dispensers and refuelling points, on vehicles, in motor vehicle dealerships
and in consumer manuals as described in this document.

Marketed fuels include for example petroleum-derived fuels, synthetic fuels, biofuels, natural gas,
liquefied petroleum gas, hydrogen and biogas and blends of the aforementioned delivered to mobile
applications.

BS EN 12397:2017 specifies the safety requirements applicable to the operation of installations for
passenger transportation by cable. This standard is applicable to the various types of installations and takes into
account their environment.

This European Standard applies to the operation of an installation and to the passenger transport conditions and
also contains requirements for passengers.

It is applicable to individual installations or a set of installations.

It does not cover legal provisions for the transport service nor transport obligations.

It includes requirements relating to the prevention of accidents and protection for workers, as well as to fire
prevention and fire-fighting, without affecting the application of national requirements relating to construction
law or statutory law, or to the protection of specific groups of people.

It does not apply to installations for the transportation of goods nor to lifts.

BS EN ISO 4589-1:2017 specifies the general requirements for the oxygen index (OI) test which are further described in ISO 4589-2 and ISO 4589-3 as follows:

  • ISO 4589-2 describes a method for determining the minimum volume fraction of oxygen in a mixture of oxygen and nitrogen introduced at 23 °C ± 2 °C that will just support combustion of a material under specified test conditions;
  • ISO 4589-3 describes methods of carrying out the same determination over a range of temperatures typically between 25 °C and 150 °C (although temperatures up to 400 °C can be used).

be withdrawn at the latest by October 2017.
