BS EN ISO 9241-392:2017 establishes recommendations for reducing the potential visual discomfort and
visual fatigue experienced during viewing of stereoscopic images under defined viewing conditions.
Visual fatigue and discomfort might be produced by the stereoscopic optical stimulus of disparate
images that were presented binocularly.

This part of ISO 9241 is also applicable to the final products of stereoscopic presentations which
depend on stereoscopic image content and stereoscopic displays when viewed under appropriate
defined conditions. Therefore, the recommendations are intended for people responsible for the design,
development, and supply of stereoscopic image content as well as stereoscopic displays.

environment. It does not apply to programmes that are exclusively conducted in a confined water
environment (e.g. swimming pools).

This document also specifies the conditions under which this service is to be provided, which
supplement the general requirements for recreational diving services specified in ISO 24803.

BS EN 13914-1:2016/COR1 specifies requirements and recommendations for the design, preparation and
application of

  • renders based on cement, lime or other mineral binders, and/or combinations thereof, masonry
    cement and polymer modified binder based external renderings, in accordance with EN 998-1 or
    site made renders;

  • renders based on organic binders in accordance with EN 15824

on all common types of backgrounds. It includes rendering on both new and old backgrounds and the
maintenance and repair of existing work. This document gives guidance on the use of established site,
factory and semi-finished factory made renders.

This document does not cover the following:

  • the use and application of special renders for liquid retaining structures, e.g. coatings, and for
    backgrounds to cladding systems;

  • the structural repair of concrete;
  • the installation of external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS);
  • the specification and use of sealants used to seal joints for use with rendering;
  • the use of gypsum based renders used externally, but their use may be permitted in some countries;
    Gypsum based products soften when subject to prolonged moist conditions. The use of such
    products externally will depend upon the climatic conditions where the render will be used and on
    the local building traditions. With the exception of some drier countries in southern Europe
    gypsum based renders are generally not recommended for external use and are therefore not
    included within the scope of this document. However, their use may be permitted and controlled
    locally.

  • renders on historical monuments or buildings in protected areas which may be regulated by
    national codes;

  • the design and installation of flashings at windowsills and elsewhere.

Because of the many and varied materials and practices and different climatic conditions in Europe it is
not possible for certain aspects of the standard to enter into sufficient detail to be fully usable to
practitioners in each country. Appropriate guidance to complement, but not alter any basic European
recommendations is given in documentation prepared by each country. Aspects of this European
Standard whose basic recommendations may need to be complemented are indicated where they occur
by a footnote referencing this clause.

to be used in determining the properties of thermoplastic polyester moulding and extrusion materials.
Requirements for handling test material and for conditioning both the test material before moulding
and the specimens before testing are given.

Procedures and conditions for the preparation of test specimens in a specified state and procedures for
measuring properties of the materials from which these specimens are made are given. Properties and
test methods which are suitable and necessary to characterize thermoplastic polyester moulding and
extrusion materials are listed.

The properties have been selected from the general test methods in ISO 10350-1. Other test methods in
wide use for or of particular significance to these moulding and extrusion materials are also included
in this document, as are the designatory properties specified in ISO 20028-1 (viscosity number and
tensile modulus of elasticity).

In order to obtain reproducible and comparable test results, it is necessary to use the methods of
specimen preparation and conditioning, the specimen dimensions and the test procedures specified
herein. Values determined will not necessarily be identical to those obtained using specimens of
different dimensions or prepared using different procedures.

BS EN 16689:2017 specifies the minimum requirements for technical rescue clothing.

Technical rescues involves work associated with the environments, and conditions associated with
operational scenarios such as but not limited to those found during road traffic collisions and when
working in and around collapsed structures often for extended periods of time after natural disasters
(earthquake, landslides, etc.) where protection against mechanical risks, limited heat and flame and
conspicuity is needed.

NOTE This could involve heavy workloads, working in confined spaces and require conspicuity in public
places.

This European Standard covers the general clothing design, the minimum performance levels of the
material used, the methods of test to be used to determine these performance levels, and marking and
information supplied by the manufacturer.

Unless combined with other specialized PPE and tested accordingly this standard is not applicable to
clothing used to protect against risks encountered in fighting fires, wildland fires or rescue from fire,
dealing with hazardous chemicals, working with chainsaws and water and rope rescue.

This European Standard does not cover protection for the head, hands and feet or protection against
other hazards e.g. chemical, radiological and electrical hazards. These aspects are covered in other
European Standards.
