Electricity metering equipment (AC) – General requirements, tests and test conditions – Part 31: Product safety requirements and tests

IEC 62052-31:2015 specifies product safety requirements for equipment for electrical energy measurement and control. It applies to newly manufactured metering equipment designed to measure and control electrical energy on 50 Hz or 60 Hz networks with a voltage up to 600 V, where all functional elements, including add-on modules are enclosed in or form a single case. When such equipment is designed to be installed in a specified matching socket, then the requirements apply to, and the tests shall be performed on, equipment installed in its specified matching socket. However, requirements for sockets and inserting / removing the meters from the socket are outside the scope of this standard. This International Standard is also applicable to auxiliary input and output circuits. This bilingual version (2016-11) corresponds to the monolingual English version, published in 2015-09.

IEC TR 62660-4:2017(E) provides the test data on the candidate alternative test methods for the internal short circuit test according to 6.4.4.2.2 of IEC 62660-3:2016. The internal short circuit test in this document is intended to simulate an internal short circuit of a cell caused by the contamination of conductive particle, and to verify the safety performance of the cell under such conditions.
This document is applicable to the secondary lithium-ion cells and cell blocks used for propulsion of electric vehicles (EV) including battery electric vehicles (BEV) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEV).
This document does not cover cylindrical cells.

IEC 62841-2-10:2017 applies to mixers the rated voltage is not more than 250 V for single-phase a.c. or d.c. tools, and 480 V for three-phase a.c. tools. The rated input is not more than 3 700 W. The limits for the applicability of this standard for battery tools are given in K.1 and L.1. This standard deals with the hazards presented by tools which are encountered by all persons in the normal use and reasonably foreseeable misuse of the tools. Hand-held electric tools, which can be mounted on a support or working stand for use as fixed tools without any alteration of the tool itself, are within the scope of this standard and such combination of a hand-held tool and a support is considered to be a transportable tool and thus covered by the relevant Part 3.
Mixers are not considered to be tools with a liquid system.
This standard does not apply to drills and impact drills, even if they can be used as a mixer
This Part 2-10 is to be used in conjunction with the first edition of IEC 62841-1:2014 .
The attention of National Committees is drawn to the fact that equipment manufacturers and testing organizations may need a transitional period following publication of a new, amended or revised IEC publication in which to make products in accordance with the new requirements and to equip themselves for conducting new or revised tests.
It is the recommendation of the committee that the content of this publication be adopted for implementation nationally not earlier than 36 months from the date of publication.

IEC 61987-11:2016 provides:
– a characterisation of industrial process measuring equipment (device type dictionary) for integration in the Common Data Dictionary (CDD), and
– generic structures for operating lists of properties (OLOP) and device lists of properties (DLOP) of measuring equipment in conformance with IEC 61987-10.
This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition published in 2012. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
a) The classification in Table A.1 has been amended to reflect the changes in the classification scheme of process measuring equipment in the CDD due to the development of IEC 61987-14, IEC 61987-15 and IEC 61987-16.
b) Annex A has become “informative”.

IEC 61202-1: 2016(E) applies to isolators used in the field of fibre optics, all exhibiting the following features:
they are non-reciprocal optical devices, in which each port is either an optical fibre or fibre optic connector;
– they are passive
devices containing no opto-electronic or other transducing elements;
– they have two optical ports for directionally transmitting optical power. This fourth edition cancels and replaces the third edition published in 2009. It constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
– the terms and definitions were reconsidered;
– quality assessment level was deleted from classification;
– the clause numbers of Annexes A and B have been rearranged.
